[Kit Insight] Bandai SD EX-Standard TBG-011B Try Burning Gundam (Straight Build)
The SD EX-Standard is the latest in Bandai's revised SD model kits that has strangely appeared to Japanese builders only very recently. For everyone else, these SD EX-Standards have largely served their intended purpose well: killing some time and producing a fun kit to toy with at the end of the day.

[GUNPLA] Premium Bandai HGUC 1/144 Waterproof Gundam
The Waterproof Gundam from days of old is finally getting a proper model kit release! Last seen in the Gundam Unicorn Manga, this remarkably designed aquatic-use mobile suit was double-teamed by a pair of Neo Zeon Zee Zulus, which were years ahead in terms of technological superiority.
Nevertheless, this P-Bandai rendition of the Gundiver (based on the HGUC Gundam Local Type) is a must-get for UC fans!

[Accessory Analysis] Bandai Tamashii Nations Metal Build 1/100 Strike Freedom Gundam Wings of Light Option Set
Bandai and Tamashii Nations have been doing some fabulous work with the Metal Build line of high-end collectible figurines, releasing model after model that always receive considerable reception and a corresponding spike in business profits. Seeking to further monetize this revenue stream, the creators have also released Option Sets to enhance the base Metal Build, whether it is in the form of additional weapons, armor or just a few pieces of well-crafted plastic.

[Kit Insight] Bandai Robot Damashii ZGMF-X56S/θ Destiny Impulse Gundam
I don't usually get Robot Damashii action figures due to their cost and perceived value, although I recognise the merits of having a more stable and solid superstructure for striking the more ridiculous poses. That having being said, the latest offerings in Bandai's long running Robot Damashii line have been pretty good: the figures are usually released with improved molding, more accurate proportions, finer detailing, fantastic articulation as well as a wealth of accessories and weapons.

[GUNPLA] Premium Bandai Hi-Resolution Model 1/100 Gundam Barbatos 6th Form
It makes sense for Bandai to release another Barbatos in the Hi-Resolution Model line since they don't have to create another prefabricated Gundam Frame. The Wrench Mace in this pricey rendition of the 6th Form looks awesome: being slimmer, sleeker while still maintaining the ferocity showed in the other scale variants. The 6th Form armor parts also have nicer colour separation, this should give builders some ideas for their 6th Form custom paintjobs.
Release date: January 2017
Price: 18,940 yen

[GALLERY] Banpresto Special Creative Model EX RX-78-2 Gundam
Banpresto's line of SCM EX prize items can be considered relatively rare, being distributed only in Japan and being sold on HobbyLink Japan for a while before being discontinued. These highly-articulated models feature a very alternative design: sleek edges, sharp angles and a keen striking visage.
The base model is quite plain, but panel-lining and decals will serve to accentuate the features of the model more.
[Kit Insight] Bandai HGCE 1/144 ZGMF-X56S/α Force Impulse Gundam [REVIVE] (Ver. GPN)
The Force Impulse Gundam represents a new age in mobile suit development in the Gundam Seed Destiny series, being one of the newest high performance mobile suits to roll off ZAFT's assembly lines. The HG Seed version of the Force Impulse was actually rather adequate, although the proportions were slightly off and colour separation for the secondary colours was practically non-existent.
The HGCE upgrade of the Force Impulse gives it many more parts, including pieces that were stickers on the HG Seed version. One gripe is that despite the increased part count, Bandai still doesn't want to give you red parts for the Force Silhouette's wings, instead preferring to frustrate you with huge, unwieldy stickers.
This Ver. GPN recolour of the Force Impulse is a more subdued and tactical colour scheme befitting of a high performance mobile suit.
[Kit Insight] Bandai Macross Delta MechaColle-01 VF-31J Siegfried Fighter Mode [Hayate Immelman Custom] (Light Build)
The eponymous VF-31 Siegfried is the protagonist machine of the Macross Delta Series, being featured prominently across most of Delta's promotional visuals and collaterals. Featuring a very slick, delta-wing design reminiscent of the SU-27 Flanker, the MechaColle version of the latest Variable Fighter does it justice by having stickers that are easy to affix to the plane body.
This is a good warm up for the 1/72 version of the Siegfried.
