Designation: Jupiter Empire Prototype Transformable Mobile Suit for Newtypes
This is pretty much "Talk to the Hand" in mobile suit form.
A truly unique mobile suit design from the Mobile Suit Gundam: Steel 7 series, the model kit rendition of the Dictus comes in highly glossy plastic for the purple and white halves, with dark grey parts for the frame (painted sparkling black for this build) as well as yellow parts for the claws and feet (painted gold for this build). Construction is quite simple and uneventful, which translates to a sturdy, solid model kit.
By far the most interesting part of the Dictus is its hand-like mobile armour mode, whereby the mobile suit alters form (with a little parts-forming on the model kit) into a giant hand with its limbs becoming the fingers and an elongated head forming the thumb.
Each finger is able to generate a large beam blade, granting the Dictus mobile armours high damage-dealing ability combined with high mobility. In mobile suit mode, the Dictus is still able to use all of the limb-generated beam blades as scythes along with a huge beam axe and beam cannons.
The somewhat ambidextrous design of the HGUC 1/144 Dictus allows for swapping of components to create a palette-mixed Dictus with the white and purple parts inverted. The Dictus' wide range of articulation and tight joints make it easy to achieve dynamic poses, although the spindly feet necessitate the usage of an action base for posing stability.
Overall, the Dictus model kit is a fantastic addition to any Crossbone Gundam and/or HGUC collection!
