A big, beefy hunk of metal (and plastic)!
The third UC-era Mobile Suit design to get the premium Metal Build treatment after the Gundam F91 and Crossbone Gundam, the Hi-v Gundam exemplifies all the best qualities of a Metal Build figure, and then some.
It is hefty and solidly constructed, possesses tight joints along with meticulous finishing, clean paint application and neat detailing. The Hi-v has a whole suite of gimmicks and functionality, such as concealed Psychoframe sections, hidden weaponry as well as weapon storage that adds playability and display options. The Fin Funnels do take some effort to install but once you get the hang of it, it shouldn't take too long (10 minutes). They will also not come off the backpack mounts without deliberate effort, so that's a definite plus.
As with all Metal Builds and finished figures, the paint application tends to rub/ chip off upon contact with another part, which is especially evident when the white areas rub against the purple sections. Caution is definitely needed when handling the Hi-v, with the V-fin being exceptionally precarious.
The Hi-v is a fantastic addition to the Metal Build line, and is a must-have for all fans of the design!
