Gunpla Gallery: RG 1/144 GN-001 Gundam Exia [Trans-AM Mode] (Gloss Injection Ver.) (Light Build)
The gloss injection finish on the plastic gives it a nice
metallic sheen that is usually achieved by airbrush painting, and the clear
greenish-yellow parts for the GN Condensers really convey the ‘powered-up’
sentiment of the Exia.

Gallery: RG 1/144 MBF-02 Strike Rouge [Expo Limited] (Painted Build)
The RG Strike Rouge is essentially a recolour of the RG Aile Strike Gundam, whose Kit Insight can be found here. It is available only as an Expo Limited, but the P-Bandai Webstore retails a premium version of the RG Strike Rouge with a recoloured IWSP strike platform.
The RG Strike Rouge builds the same way as its Earth Alliance Twin, possessing the same key parts, the same decal set and weaponry but also has one additional runner of parts with an extra decal sheet containing Cagalli's own personal markings.

Kit Insight: RG 1/144 GAT-X105 Aile Strike Gundam (Painted Build)
As a preference, I don't usually do RG kits, although I won't deny their superior quality and the lower effort required to make them look great on a shelf. Nonetheless, I embrace kits from all grades in order to give a more holistic take on this hobby.
The Aile Strike Gundam has always been a favourite from the Gundam SEED Series, with its striking design, traditional Gundam colours and the ability to use interchangeable Striker Packs. It is also a protagonist unit, making it the hero of sorts and boosting its popularity further.

Kit Insight: RG 1/144 GN-001 Gundam Exia (Painted Build)
The Gundam Exia holds the distinction of being the first Gunpla model kit I've ever constructed, something close to ten years back. Therefore, this particular model has great significance and sentimental value, for it essentially launched my entire Gundam-modelling career.
So it was something of a pleasant surprise when the RG Gundam Exia was announced, with the prototyping shots whetting my appetite for it with each published image. Having made a preorder at the soonest opportunity, I could only live vicariously through the leaked images and fanbase speculations for the months before finally receiving the model kit in my eager hands.
As with the first Exia, the RG Exia has relaunched the way I tackle model kits.

Kit Insight: RG 1/144 RX-178B-T3 Build Gundam Mk-II [Titans Custom Unit 03] (Customised Build)

Show me your fury! |
Before we begin, I have to say that I'm not particularly fond of RG kits. Yes, they have a wealth of detail, gimmicks and range of motion that regular HGs don't, RG kits are just troublesome to build, to say the least. Nevertheless, they are great kits for casual hobbyists who do not want to waste too much time and effort in doing up a kit that will look fantastic straight from the box.
This particular project came about upon realising that neither my HGUC RX-178 Gundam Mk-II [AEUG Ver.] nor the RX-178B Build Gundam Mk-II could equip the RG 1/144 Flying Armor and G-Defenser kit from BTF that I acquired online for a great price. The RG Strike Freedom gave me a headache when I was building it, so I wasn't very keen on beginning another RG.
But we all know how that turned out.

Kit Insight: RG 1/144 ZGMF-X20A Strike Freedom Gundam (Straight Build)
In the beginning, Real Grade (RG) kits didn't really appeal to me that much: the sheer number of stickers and decals that were required to be applied turned me off from the series, in addition to its higher cost as well as limited variety. Plus, runner previews unveiled a plate count of at least twice the usual Gundam-type High Grade (HG) kit, an important factoid for lazy ol' me.
Then the Strike Freedom came out, with its chrome gold electro-plated wings and dirty gold inner frame. I always had a soft spot for the Freedom-series of Gundams (and also shiny things), so naturally I took a second gander at this particular RG kit. Before I knew it, the box was in my hands and an order for its add-on expansion had been placed.
Thus began my RG collection.
