After a gap of 12 years, Hobby Art Gallery (HAG) will be organising the Hobby Art Tetsujin Competition 2017, the definitive model shop Gunpla competition here on our tiny island! A no-holds-barred, anything-goes modelling competition not restricted to age, language or religion, Tetsujin 2017 promises to be an eye opening event for the local modelling scene!
Deemed as an intensive but very enlightening Gunpla competition, Tetsujin 2017 will pit the skills of local modelers with one another, allowing them to learn from each other and better their craft. Divided into three main categories, modelers can either do an Out Of Box Build to hone their basics or dive into the intense Open Category where fantastic customs do battle with amazing dioramas. Young modelers can enter the Youth Category to go head to head with their peers!
The only requirement for Tetsujin 2017 is the usage of original plastic model kits. These can be from Bandai, Kotobukiya or any other major brand. Aftermarket parts, optional weapons and resin add-on sets can also be used, provided that the base kit is a mecha kit from any of the major brands.
All entries will be scrutinized and judged on a set of transparent criteria, ensuring that the modeler will walk away with constructive feedback and keen insight into their own abilities, which is better than any other prize! Wait no, the prizes for Tetsujin 2017 are sure to be VERY ATTRACTIVE.
So get your creative juices and design machinery going! The competition will be held in early February 2017, so there's plenty of time for you to dream up, materialise and polish your custom work to a smooth sheen!
