Bandai's High Grade treatment has given justice to the maiden novel kit iteration of the Juggernaut, making for a very interesting and refreshing build experience.The big gun version of the walking coffin comes in a decently-sized box that's fairly standard of Bandai High Grades, but has a very robust amount of parts (7 runners) that is reflective of Bandai's modern offerings. One cool thing about the 86 model kits is the incorporation of in-universe lore within the construction manual, with blurbs detailing some of the design nuances of the ill-fated Juggernaut unit.
HG 1/48 scale range of Juggernaut model kits is such a blast to build, with the "spider-tank" aesthetic taking form with a slightly higher amount of parts than a HGTO 1/144 GM model kit. The four spindly legs and their associated joint parts are all tight enough to hold the Juggernaut up without any external support (a clear base is provided as well), even with the huge long range smoothbore cannon fully deployed. Arranging the legs takes some getting used to as you will invariably find one leg dangling in the air while the other 3 remain planted on the ground.
The Juggernaut's main weapon is undoubtedly the star of the show: the enormous gun is built with almost the same amount of parts as juggernaut's main body and has a shell ejecting mechanism that is good to have but you aren't really going to use it all that often. The machine guns have decent articulation, being able to swing out and track up and down, giving the Juggernaut a little more poseability in a sense.
The Bandai 86 HG 1/48 Juggernaut (Long Range Cannon Type) is of a nice size that gels neatly with other similar scale model kits (pictured here with the Entry Grade 1/144 RX-78-2 Gundam and the RG Evangelion Unit-01 (Night Combat Colour)).
This also means that you can mount the huge cannon onto a HG 1/144 model kit from the Universal Century. Probably.
